<![CDATA[Inside The Song - Blog]]>Fri, 18 May 2012 09:36:20 -0600Weebly<![CDATA[May - Spring/Summer has Sprung]]>Wed, 09 May 2012 18:14:10 -0600http://insidethesong.com/2/post/2012/05/may-springsummer-has-sprung.htmlApril was not really a good month in my life so that's probably why I didn't blog. It brought bad news regarding the health of several loved ones. We all lived through it and May brings the hope of better days.

I have been so busy launching www.LeCorTranscription.com and building that business as well as gearing up for another morphing of www.InsideTheSong.com also known as ITS Entertainment.

As the times change, Inside The Song has had to change with them. This business continues to morph, grow and change with the times. This business started out as a simple concept where I had a show in Nashville from the Broken Spoke songwriters Cafe nightly. Here is a clip from that show featuring Michael E. Shipley. I had a little Interview show behind the scenes where I would interview up and coming songwriters as seen in this video. We also went out and filmed and interviewed some big events as seen in this video at the Grand Ole Opry.

Then Inside The Song morphed into a Songwriters Cafe and Guitar Store where songwriters could come and play their songs and fans of original music could enjoy the songs. We offered beverages and snacks, beer and wine and everyone had a great time and loved it as seen in this video.

Inside The Song Acoustic Cafe and Guitar Store was another casualty of 9-11 and after struggling for about 6 months after the tragedy we made the decision to close it down. I had met so many nice folks and several of them asked me to start booking them so I became the booking agent for many wonderful singer songwriters. That carnation of Inside the Song also known as ITS Entertainment lasted for a good decade. ITS Entertainment has booked some of the best in performing singer/songwriters as seen in this video.

As the economy took the hit, so did ITS Entertainment. ITS Entertainment has had to take a short break and in that time we have figured how to once again morph with the times. We are doing it by adding a Promotions and Publicity department to our existing company. We will be offering some great deals in Promoting and publicizing bands, solo artists, duo's, all genres as well and publicizing them and showing them how they can do more for themselves to further their own careers in this new age of do it yourself and do it your way in the music world.. Stay tuned on more of this soon.

The past few months I have interviewed Brian Gaskill, an actor who has been on several soaps and major films.

I have interviewed and attended Country Star Bill Deans 50th Birthday Party.

I have interviewed Doug Gray of The Marshall Tucker Band and David Bellamy of the Bellamy Brothers.

Tomorrow I am scheduled to interview the singing comedian Ray Stevens on Music Row. I look forward to many more interviews with many more cool and beautiful people. I will be back soon but for now Ciao.

love,

<![CDATA[Middle Of March]]>Fri, 16 Mar 2012 21:13:16 -0600http://insidethesong.com/2/post/2012/03/middle-of-march.htmlIt is the night before St. Patrick's Day and I just learned that someone I have respected and admired for a long time is loosing her battle with cancer. That makes me so very sad. She is well loved and the prayers will continue for her so if prayers can heal and she is meant to stay here with us and God doesn't already have plans for her up there, then we may get to keep her here on earth. She is a very special person and I have to believe that if she can't stay here, it has to be because there is a greater plan for her in heaven.

I remember so many St. Patrick Days I had spent with my Dad and I have to believe that he is getting ready for the big celebration, him and all his Irish and none Irish buddies up there on Cloud 3-17. Last week I got to interview Actor Brian Gaskill and Country Star Billy Dean.
Both of those interviews were published on Yahoo. Brian's interview can be read at http://voices.yahoo.com/actor-brian-gaskill-real-11051242.html?cat=49 and Billy's Interview can be viewed at: http://voices.yahoo.com/country-star-billy-dean-dean-acres-his-50th-11080884.html?cat=33

I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY.

Take a listen and share it if you like it if you wish. You can get all my music at Itunes, Amazon and CD Baby!!
HAPPY MARCH 1ST!!

<![CDATA[Just Because You Love To Do It]]>Sun, 19 Feb 2012 02:29:11 -0600http://insidethesong.com/2/post/2012/02/just-because-you-love-to-do-it.htmlOkay, now that I have your attention I will get right to the point. Last month I wrote a story about the end of an ERA, the cancellation of All My Children, One Life To Live, Agnes Nixon and the Swan movement. That story got me an award at Yahoo. The story is called "The Day 60 Thousand Teardrops. Fell." I would love to see that story continue to circulate as it seems to have touched so many people in so many ways. Then two weeks ago I wrote, recorded and released a song regarding how I felt and how many other people felt about losing these shows. The song is called , It's Just Not The Same Without You." It became available as a MP3 download on Amazon. I heard that the song is doing very well. It is getting more likes and plays and downloads than any of my others songs to date. Can you imagine what kind of media attention the song and the movement would get if this song became the #1 downloaded song on Amazon? I would love to donate 1/2 the proceeds from the download sales to the documentary. Soap Life - A Documentary On Daytime Drama so by spending 99 cents on the download, you would be helping the cause two-fold, by raising the number of downloads for the song helping to get it to number one status and by contributing to me donating half the download sale to the documentary. It is a win, win for everyone. So please click on the link for the song and download it and then please let me know you did it by commenting on this page so I can have some idea of the pledge I can give to the documentary. Thank you for reading and for helping us save not just our favorite shows but a whole genre that will be lost if we don't do all these things to show that we really do want to save our shows and the genre. If you need to hear the whole song before downloading it you can hear it at:

<![CDATA[Awarded Yahoo Hot 500 Writer for Record Breaking Daytime Drama Story]]>Wed, 08 Feb 2012 00:33:42 -0600http://insidethesong.com/2/post/2012/02/awarded-yahoos-hot-500-writer.htmlI was notified yesterday by Yahoo that I have been dubbed one of the Hot 500 content writers for them. I have to tell you I was shocked and honored at the same time. I know you have to have a lot of reads and a lot of comments to receive this honor. I also ironically found the award at my page about 6 hours before Yahoo emailed me that I had received this esteemed honor. It was like finding out twice and made it twice as nice. In exploring if it were one particular publication that had been getting all this attention, I have come to the conclusion by looking at the numbers that my article about the end of ABC daytime drama shows and The Swans and the The Swan movement have helped to earn me this honor.

I edited the article today to include the link to our very Popular song - "It's Just Not The Same Without You," which is a song I co-wrote with my very talented co-writer, musician lover and life partner husband Greg Wilson. He is singing lead in the song and ladies you can hear one of the reasons why I was attracted to this man. I love a low deep vocal and gritty growl in my man singers and my husband has that in buckets full. Anyhow, the link for my AWARD WINNING ARTICLE IS: The Day 60 Thousand Teardrops Fell - There is also another aticle getting tons of attention and that is: Agnes Nixon Received A Swan For Christmas - The song we wrote is getting more likes than any other song we have ever published in such a short amount of time. Click the link to hear the song - IT'S JUST NOT THE SAME WITHOUT YOU and click like if you like the song.
That's all for now,

<![CDATA[More Proof of What People Really Want in TV Programming]]>Sun, 29 Jan 2012 21:39:16 -0600http://insidethesong.com/2/post/2012/01/more-proof-of-what-people-really-want-in-tv-programming.htmlOur song '- "It's Just Not The Same Without You," Inspired by the recent cancellation of All My Children and One Life To Live is standing strong at # 3 this week. Less than two weeks after it's released the song being referred to as THE LOVE SONG for DAYTIME DRAMA is not only holding it's own but continues to climb the charts. During the first week of the songs released it hit the charts at #14 and rose to #8. This past week it went from # 8 to #3 on the local Tennessee Charts at Reverb Nation. The Song has gotten more comments and more positive response than any song we have ever written besides, "Duty Called," which is a Tribute song to American Veterans. We would like to thank everybody for sharing the song, enjoying the song and we are so happy that it could possibility help in dealing with the loss and grief so many hundreds of thousands of people are feeling at the loss of their favorite TV families. If you haven't heard the song you can hear it by clicking on the link: http://www.reverbnation.com/play_now/song_11816628

<![CDATA[Who Says Nobody Wants Daytime Drama?]]>Mon, 23 Jan 2012 16:12:44 -0600http://insidethesong.com/2/post/2012/01/who-says-nobody-wants-daytime-drama.htmlWe are watching our Tribute Song which honors cancelled Daytime Serial Drama's climb the charts so nobody can tell me that American's don't want daytime drama. I have got to tell you that the response we are getting for our song "It's Just Not The Same Without You," which pays tribute to cancelled Daytime Drama Serials inspired by the recent cancellation of "All My Children," and "One Life To Live," is knocking us off our feet. The response has been so overwhelming that we have had to put all our CD promotions for our newly released CD, "Love Story" , which was released on January 1st, 2012 on the back burner. http://www.insidethesong.com/store.html

All our attention needs to be focused on the time sensative promotion and interviews on what now is looking like our biggest single ever which was released January 19th, 2012.

I read over and over again from the people that are supposed to know what they are talking about (network exectives) that the average American no longer wants to be entertained by scripted programming. What a load of horse poop that is.

Our Song, "It's Just Not The Same Without You, " is getting so much attention, praise, recongition and plays that it is pushing us to the top of the Reverb Nation Charts and getting so many likes on facebook that it is taking our breath away. This proves to us that there is a want, need and desire for LOVE IN THE AFTERNOON. http://www.reverbnation.com/play_now/song_11816628 The song is currently available via download for 99 cents if you click the buy button on the above link. The song is also available as a ringtone. We are currently awaiting the approval of the song to be sold via Amazon and will let you all know as soon as it is available there.

I was notified via email that Vincet Iriarry has posted our song on his personal facebook. http://www.facebook.com/#!/vincent.irizarry
What an honor that was for me because he was/is my favorite ALL TIME MALE ACTOR on All My Children. Folks Vincent is a fabulous photographer so make sure you check out is photography at http://www.facebook.com/#!/vincentirizarryphotography
